Faya Orphanage is a wonderful little home for HIV+ and HIV- kids in Adama, Ethiopia. It is funded by donations from great folks just like you, with some basic support from the Ethiopian government. Check out the official website. The best thing you can do to help out is to donate cash to help them fund their operations… you can do that on the website with Paypal.

If you would like to fill a container yourself, please email okanaganfca (at) gmail.com (take the spaces out) and I will email you a list of currently needed items, give you the orphanage contact info, and help you spread the word that you will be taking donations with you.
List of currently need items
- Kids and toddler’s multivitamins. Syrup and chewables.

Please visit my Ethiopian Adoption Bookstore!
Every penny earned in commission will be donated to Faya Orphanage in Ethiopia.
I have a great, ever-changing selection of books for kids and parents. It isn’t a random list: every one of these books I have read or own myself.
For parents, I’ve got some of the best available books on adoption, transracial parenting and Ethiopia. I also have links to some of the best novels available that take place in Ethiopia.
For kids, I have books on adoption, multiculturalism, adoption… and even a wonderful selection of books with black kids as the main characters. Plus, there are many of my kids’ favorite selections.
Enjoy! And thank you for supporting our fundraiser! 4% of your purchases will go to Faya Orphanage.
PS. If you have any suggestions of other books I should be adding, please just comment below.

Hi Nicky,
We just borrowed a book from the library that has been, thus far, amazing.
African Ark by Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher
(People and Ancient Cultures of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa)
The photography is stunning…definitely worth a look!
Hope the new year brings with it hope and inspiration!

Hi Nicky
I am in Ontario and have donations for Faya but haven’t been able to track anyone down to take them. Please let me know if you hear of anyone that would like to take them. In the mean time I will continue to collect.
