For the first time I tried yarn extensions yesterday on [edit:Spice! oops - wrote the wrong pseudonym!] Yikes – two and a half Disney movies long!!!! ehhh!!! She did sit still the whole time, though. People ask me how they do that – the trick is, it’s the only time they watch TV. So they are rivetted!
But it does look really good. Please please please last a long time!
here is the vid I used to do them, for all of you who request videos
the wonders of youtube.

Wow Nicky, they look wonderful! What a great job…
I’ve been debating doing yarn braids for a long time. I keep hesitating thinking it will make Eskedar look older. I know that’s a strange reason though…
Sugar looks great and still young looking!
As for the sitting still, I think we also lucked out having adopted older kids. They are used to the sitting for hair.
Let us know how long they last. I’m thinking of doing it for when we go to Disneyland.
Hi to the girls from E and B,
Michelle
These are my favorite hairstyles on them! VERY nice. And yes, wow, the wonders of youtube indeed…
They look fantastic! Did you actually use yarn, or was it fake hair? Sorry for the lack of knowledge on my part! I hope, for your sake, that they last long, too!!!!!
wow, amazing! I don’t know if my fingers possess these braid-making skills…I rather think not. But I sure love seeing your girls’ hair!!

Beautiful! Makes her look older.

Wow they look great! I love looking at all the different hair styles that you try.
They look awesome! I love Spice’s hair like that too
Hi Venessa – yup – they are yarn. Acrylic, to be specific. We have this beautiful yarn shop just by our house and we had a great time trying the colours out
Of course, this morning we had to go and buy ANOTHER ball of yarn – yikes. Please let Sugar forget about me doing it tomorrow!!! I want to go out and play, not braid all day…
Great job Nicky! I’ve used the same video and had great success with yarn braids! I love that you don’t have to think about hair every morning and they wash so well. I also love putting in different colors. I usually use one black strand, but I found this great yarn that changes from tan to brown to black. Using that as my second color is my favorite so far. My twins keep asking for longer and longer hair though – so this weekend I spent 8 hours per head! I totally understand how your mind goes numb after watching that many movies/kids shows and my back is killing me – I keep forgetting to relax my shoulders! Great bonding time though. I always get so many hugs and kisses when we’re done – they spend the whole first day swinging their hair around with a silly grin on their faces.

Hope you made it out to play.
Love all the pictures.
I guess it is time to tackle my head, well not my own but my “Noami” fake head, I just keep staring at it , and have yet to tackle anything.
This is my week to start.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing, it looks do-able! I can braid but my parting skills are poor, so it would take me all day just to get the parts straight. Do you wash their hair? How does the yarn do with washing?
Hey guys!
Gine – I haven’t wased their hair since I put them in… I did Sugar’s yuesterday – from early monring until noon, so not as bad… I guess I got faster. I usually don’t wash their hair during the week, though – just when I change their braids. I do spray it with some biolage spray just the the roots, though… when their hair is in (no extension) braids, they get a spray of it every day, so I thought sraying the roots would probably be a good idea for their scalp with the extensions too.
Hope this lasts a long time!!!
I really like it!
