Eat your hearts out, prairie folk – we have tulips 4 inches high in our yard. (And the Vancouver people say “so what?” lol!)
But with the Olympics on the tube every night, we felt inspired to spend our day off up on the skihill. Despite Spice’s pleas to ski, we decided they should start off tubing (read: cheaper) and had a blast going up and down the slopes together. Then off to a Tapas bar for dinner – yum yum! What a nice day. And a real pleasure to get it away from it all. It’s so nice Big White is 45 minutes away – we really should go more often.
- On the tube lift with Spice – Sugar and Jrock are just behind.
- Spice on the hill.
- Waiting in the tube lift line.
- The whole fam.
- Spice rearranging the runs.
- Sugar being rescued from a snowbank.
- Sugar crossing the artic.

Hi [Nicky],
This looks like sooooo much fun. Looks like your girls were old enough?? I am considering it for my troop. Would it be suitable for 2.5 year olds? Also considering coming to to adoption potluck in Lavington this weekend. Would that be OK?? If so how do you all heat up your potluck dish??

Great shots!
We have only seen one or 2 snowy days down here in the lower mainland…
Now it’s just rain, rain and more rain. I am slightly mortified that we are living up to our reputation for crappy weather while the international spotlight is on us. I usually try to tell people how lovely it is here, but it is hard to compete with the garbage weather we are having in Vancouver…
Glad your girls had a good time. Yesterday Nick told me he wants to be an Olympic ski jumper…arg! Guess we better start him out on some skis soon
Claire
Hi Carrie – I think kids as young as three go skiing – but the tubing all they have to be able to do is stay in the tube themselves… because every person is in their own tube.
I know Claire, – wouldn’t it be nice if it stopped RAINING????
I just wanted to de-lurk and tell you how much I enjoy your blog!
I’m giving you an ‘award’ tomorrow at 1 p.m. MST

This is so funny… a colleague of mine was just talking today about tubing at a ski hill. I had never heard of this before and now twice in one day! Tobogganing is absolutely my favourite winter thing to do, so now I feel like I have to find a place to tube

what a great idea! we’ve only been up to apex once but we really should go and get one more run in before the end of the season! (tubing too…4 kids on ski’s = crazy expensive!)
and, unfortunately Saturdays a no-go for us. hopefully sometime soon though…I cant wait to actually meet you guys! Have fun!

Okay, 4 inch tulips already?! We’re moving. This is nuts. Any neighbours with houses for sale??
My first daffodil is blooming today…and it is GLORIOUSLY, gorgeously, breathtakingly sunny today. Which is why people put up with Vancouver, cause, when it shines, it SHINES!
