These are to be treasured forever!! What gorgeous artwork, I think you have artists in your family! Thanks for all the great posts on your blog. I love reading about your journey through adoption and how the girls are settling in to their new lives in Canada. They look so happy and I can see how well they are doing. A big hug to them both. Robyn
hi! i was wondering how the girls are doing in terms of their language skills? do they speak to each other in their own language? how do they communicate with you and jrock?
also, would you be able to give a bit of an update on how it’s going with creating attachments – you had mentioned before only having you and jrock giving them hugs/showing physical affection. is that still the case?
Hi – the girls are kind of at the age where their language development has been linear – they simply are learning English sentence structure instead of Amharic. We try to keep some of their Amharic, but as soon as we intriduce an English word, the Amharic one just disapears. It’s a little sad, but that’s just the way they are learning.
I am planning on doing a post on attachment in a week or so – but the short version is “yes”, we are still the only ones to give hugs, sit on laps, etc. And it’s warented.

I absolutely love the comparison of the clothes in the closet with the clothes in the laundry basket!
Those are treasures! You’re going to have to frame some of those!! Thanks for sharing
