Gramma Back and Daddy Gone…
Howdy everybody. I just wanted to let you all know where we’re at…
Gramma (my mum) is back in Canada. I got to have a little time with her yesterday, and it was wonderful hearing about Nicky and the girls from her. She’s happy to be home, but she’ll miss spending time with her grandaughters and daughter.
It was neat to hear her talk about the girls, learning a bit more about them from someone who’s spent some time with them. It was really cool to hear about how Nicky is adjusting, and how she’s a natural at this Mommy thing! It was also fun getting to window shop for little girls’ clothes with Gramma (my mum), Nonna (my Grandma, the girls’ great-gran), and my Auntie (aka G.A.T. – Great-Aunt T.) We had a blast picking out things we liked, things we thought Nicky would like, and especially all the pink and frilly stuff that Spice (our little fashionista) would love and Nicky would hate! Thank you to the three of them for meeting me in Banff for a day. (oh yeah, we may have also stopped by the candy store for a treat…)
We heard today that Jrock has arrived in Ethiopia and is with Nicky and the girls. Finally, the whole family together! They’ll be holidaying around Ethiopia for the next couple of weeks, coming back to Addis and the Weygoss every so often, both to check in about passports and to provide a little bit of a ‘home base’ for the girls. Apparently the girls are totally in love with their new Daddy – who wouldn’t want such a nice, calm, funny, gentle Daddy, though? I can’t wait until they meet Grandpa (my daddy), and figure out that the big, wiskery guy is a total teddy bear with Grandpa mints in his pocket…
I’m hoping to have some photos soon – Gramma didn’t have a copy to give me yet on Friday (but I got to see a bunch on her camera!), and Jrock also took the download cable with him, so maybe we’ll have some of the four of them!

It is so wonderful to hear how the girls are doing and how naturally mommy and daddy are filling in to their roles. I know when we got our son, he thought it so strange to have a man actually provide for him and be there day in and day out. It was something he enjoyed but had to learn to adjust to. Some of the older kids we were with too took time to adjust to having a man provide, and not just be around. So it’s nice to read how they are embracing having a daddy!
Great to hear that they’re all finally together! Hallelujah! The long journey is almost over.

Wonderful news. So glad they are all together at last!
SO glad the family is together! And how cute that Sugar and Spice already are lovin’ on Daddy! Can’t wait to see the pictures!
