Dog-sledding! 2

Today Jrock and I had a nice treat – our friend who has sled dogs invited us out for a run this morning. (Follow the link to his blog here.) It was really fun! We are both big dog lovers and our friend’s dogs are just awesome.
Below are a few pictures – we went in the wee hours of the morning, so they are pretty dark -but you get the idea. I also composed a little video below as well, for your viewing pleasure.
We were out this time again on the Kettle Valley Railway – a deserted railbed turned trail system. Last we time we went to another location along the trail… and they only had 6 dogs then – now they have 8! It’s pretty cool flying over the tressle bridges in a dogsled.

Last year we went with our friend and his wife as well. See the post and the video from last year here.
These friends are actually from South Africa- that’s right, South African dog-sledders! lol
They’ve been really nice about asking about the girls, and he suggested we bring the girls out next year.
Are you kidding?!? Right on! We’ll be there! (With matching raspberry and chocolate snowsuits, insulated head-to-toe.) We’re so happy to have the experience – we can’t wait for our girls to try it.

That looks like a lot of fun! What an experience it’ll be for your girls!
Oh what fun!! I haven’t been dog sledding in years.
Wow! That looks like awesome fun!! Good for you!!
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. I will never forget my first dog sledding experience. Every year we try to take the YEX student who is here to do something perfectly wintery and the year we did dog sledding was the most amazing. Easily the most incredible thing we have ever done in Canada. Loved the video… thanks for sharing. A
So I was reading your blog today and noticed the picture in the top right and the blond girl looked really familiar. I am wondering if she is an artist from the Lloyd area? I’m sure i’ve met her, or else her twin anyway.
The sledding looks like so much fun!
lol – that is funny Kristin – you probably mean my friend Susan! You bet – we were next door neighbors with her and Rob for years. They are awesome people
We have a painting of Susan’s in our home – it’s of our two houses, side by side.
Yes Susan, I couldn’t remember her name, that is amazing, what a small world. I love her art work, she has amazing texture in the pieces that I’ve seen.
