I swear I am done now.

Ah, the clothes shopping for little girls.  It is just AWESOME, I have to tell you!

And, it’s pretty addictive.  Today, Jrock examined the treasures laid out on the bed (and yes, these are just todays’ – remember I am shopping for two! – and shrugged and commented “you know, they aren’t going to arrive any faster if you buy more clothes, you know.”

True; true.  But it is TOO fun.  But this time I’m done.  I swear.  I even have tights now.  The only thing we are missing is footwear – and hopefully my friend will trace their feet when she goes to pick up her kids in  couple of weeks.  Then we’ll have some idea of the girls’ shoe size.

PS: Every one of these pieces of clothing, (except two shirts and the tights,) is second hand.  I LOVE second hand shops!  Recycling and fashion all-in-one!

Aren’t second hand clothes the BEST? We have almost all hand-me-downs for Stinkerbelle, and it rocks! Kids wear clothes for such a short period before they outgrow them, so why not share the wealth?

So glad you are enjoying getting ready for your girls!

  2. Rhonda

Fun! I’m glad to hear you got some great deals!

  3. Alicia

Be prepared for tons more shopping. Sofia has grown SO fast in the 7 months she’s been home. Almost 10cm in height and 3.5 shoe sizes!!!

We buy a lot second-hand, too. Great deals, great clothes, great fun.

Over a year ago I read a post by a blog-friend who noted that her kids’ socks all had holes in them so she had gone out and bought 60 new pairs. I’m thinking, what? did you get some for charity? The I remembered – she’s got 12 kids (yes, TWELVE). That’s only 5 pair each.

Shopping for two is nothing in comparison!
(Imagine what the grocery bill would be like…)

I love the little hats. They will be very well dressed little girls.

I love shopping for my daughter. Little girl clothes is fun!!

We actually have another set altogether of size 3s :-) So we are ready for those growth spurts as well.

I think I will end up selling all this stuff on ebay when I am done… There is just so much of it. Or maybe I’ll take it back to the consignment store where I bought a bunch of it!

I’m so glad you posted this Nicky, because it made me remember a consignment store some friends have told me about, and then I went, and then I spent. :)

It looks like you found some great clothes!!

So cute, I love second hand clothes. They grow so fast and the clothes usually still look great.
Can’t wait to read about you bringing home your girls.
I hope you like your Ergo, we’re thinking of getting one too.

Hope to hear travel plans soon.

Looks like a great haul! It’s sooooo much fun buying for girls. I have those same gymboree pants (the black ones with the pink belt and little cats on them) for Maya and they were super cute on! Can’t wait to see your little ones modeling all their clothes!

That Ergo is for Jrock – I have a sling. But we needed to find something for him that he was comfortable in and it seems this will do the trick!

Great post!! I haven’t bought any clothes for our two yet but we are getting amazing hand me downs from my student’s families.
It’s so great you got them second hand. It reminds me to take a look at the consignments/thrift stores in town. I haven’t had a chance yet!
Praying your court date is successful!

    LOL! Shop on, Mama! :)

second hand is sooo the way to go!! You might find to, once you have your girls in tow, that people begin saying “hey, do you need clothes? because I have bags of clothes that so-and-so just grew out of if you want them.” There’s some kind of odd clothing circle amongst parents with young kids. And everyone….and it will not be long before you are here to….everyone has bags of “to-small-stuff” kicking around taking up space.

Have fun shopping!! it really is so addictive. There is so much cute stuff out there. It will be neat to see what each girl picks as their favorite piece. (my girls are both so different…only a few tutu’s and fairy wings were favored by both) You can watch their beautiful little personalities unfold as they reach for that favorite sweater or pair of tights. Or maybe they won’t care at all and let you pick out their clothes!! my oldest was like that, which made me happy. The younger, not so much. This girl KNOWS what she likes and is strong willed enough to stand her ground.

I am so excited for you and Jrock to experience all the funny little quirks that come along with wee ones. It really is awe inspiring!
