A day with mom

My mom and I spent a nice day away – slowing winding down the valley through Peachland, Summerland and Penticton.
We had lunch at a lovely bakery – Bliss Bakery in Peachland. Check out that pink cupcake!

We visited Summerland Sweets to buy some jams and syrups… and found out there was a trestle bridge for a walk just a few hundred meters away. So I put on one of Dad’s jackets from the truck and we took Mom’s dog Tori for a hike across the bridge. Poor Tori was so nervous looking WAY DOWN the canyon in between the rail ties… but she made it across.

OMG, I discovered Bliss Bakery when I was visiting a friend last summer. The olive, artisan bread is to die for. And the cinnamon buns with icing – YUM!! I spent about an hour shopping in Deja Vu.
Oh. Em. Gee! I am so jealous! When I used to work a lot out in BC, I fell in love with Summerland. Between that and the Mission Hill wines, I promised myself when I was rich I’d have a home there.
Le sigh. Looks like the “when I am rich” will never happen, so I am going to have to live vicariously through you instead!
You guys live in such a nice part of the country. I love seeing your outdoor pictures!
We are pretty lucky, Shannon!
That is so funny, Haze – when you come through next time we’ll go down to Bliss together….
As for you, Cinn… did you know summerland is actually somewhat reasonable as far as realestate goes? Probably one o the cheaper places to live in the valley. (I’m also trying to convince my mom it’d be a good place for them!)
Cheers
Nicky
Nice you call it Mom’s dog, was supposed to be ours but well who spends the most time with her.
Hey Dad… at least I said it was your jacket – ha ha!!!
