Just in case anyone starts to get excited!  These are not OUR kids - These pictures are of the little girl in Addis Ababa that we are sponsoring through Canadian Humanitarian

“H” is just four years old – what a sweetie pie! and we just got pictures of her this week. It’s definitely not as good as seeing your own kids’ faces, but getting little H’s picture was a lovely gift in the mail!

Jrock and I have been sponsoring a child through World Vision, Jorge in Columbia, since he was 10 years old! and he is soon going to graduate out of the sponsorship program (at 16.) Man, times flies by… So we thought we would sponsor another child, this time from Ethiopia – and the neat thing is that we’ll get to visit her, if we want, when we go to pick up our own kids. World Vision does a lot of great work and community projects – they’re a great organization.  But this time we decided to support a smaller organization and make a more direct contribution to one child.

Our $30/month sponsorship will make sure that H gets food, shelter, and a chance to go to school. We’ll keep you updates as time goes by and we learn more about H and how she’s doing.

In the meanwhile, consider sponsoring a child yourself!  What is $30 to you? It’s buying one less new shirt, or toning down your cable package.  Heck, walk to work 1-2 days a week and you’ll probably save that much in gas! lol

If she’s not just the cutest! little! girl! I don’t know who is. She’s adorable! Look at those big brown eyes!

(Ha. I made a typo on “adorable” and spellcheck suggested “adoptable”. Even spellcheck is taunting me.)

She is adorable! What a sweet little thing! We too sponsor a child in Ethiopia and wish that we could have seen him when we were there but he was too far away. I’m soo glad that you put the disclaimer at the top that it wasn’t a referral as I just about jumped out of my seat when I saw two photos starting to appear on the website. Oh, I hope that very very soon it will be referral pictures that you’re posting!

Congratulations on your referral of twin girls!!! Oh… wait a minute…

Good thing you had the disclaimer at the beginning :)

That would be really great if you could meet her when you travel.

Oh she’s a cuteness for sure!

She is so sweet. What a neat experience it would be to go and meet her and her family when you are there. A few weeks ago my husband and I decided to sponsor a child from Cannadian Humanitarian as well. I will have to do a blog post on him sometime soon. We were also thinking that when we travel we would like to visit him. Thanks for sharing!!

But man she’d be a cutie if she was yours. Here’s to hoping we both hear soon!!

p.s. I would also buy the dolls if you get into that venture. I also envy (a nice envy) people who are crafty and have the ability to do such things.

World Vision called a few hrs ago, asking if we could take on ANOTHER child, this time in South America. I said we prefer to stick with Africa, and since our newest kids arrived just 10 mos ago I think we will focus on that right now! We have been pleased to see what they are doing around the world, just wishing we could agree to more (sponsorship that is!)
