At the market last Saturday I sold out early and had some time to wander around. I ended up buying a sling from a lady about my age who has been making them as her “job” since the birth of her first child 4 years ago. Many people have commented how wonderful they are for bonding, and I like that one size fits all, since I don’t know how big the kids will be. Our cat Vega just loved being in the sling – she is such a lush, it was heavenly for her to be carted about!
My baby, Malía, (now 8 1/2 months) has loved the sling from the moment I put her in it, 4 1/2 months ago, in Addis. I had mine made with an extra long “Tail” to be able to shelter her, if need be. You’ll definitely love the closeness!

Well, there goes another baby gift off the list! I know you’re having fun, Nic, but remember, people will want to help out in any way they can. And what with the bonding and attachment that will need to happen between you and your new kids, we won’t be able to babysit for a bit! I love the new sling, and am so glad you’re having fun getting ready for your family (and I know it makes the waiting easier), but just remember to leave some neat things for us to get you! We all want to be able to show our support (and spoil those babies rotten!).
Don’t worry, Lin……. I have a long wish list !!!!

Us adoptive parents really are “craving” being a parent aren’t we??
Well, let’s just hold out hope for when the day arrives…but we might need 2 slings, cause the pets may not want to leave!
